Interesting...

I've always been curious why metal bands are so obsessed with breaking things...

I know this should probably be in General, but Im going to go ahead and reply anyway.

Its cool to see another fan of music. I myself find myself padding my pocket by gigging around town with my bass.

Although hard rock isnt really my bag, I do enjoy the song you linked. Allow me to show my appreciation by linking a track by one of my favorite bands, Dredg. I present Bug Eyes:

In case you cant tell, Im something of an altrockindiehipsterasaurus.

True, and I must admit, a lot of metal is very "inspiring"... everyone knows at least one or two songs that make them want to jump up and down and beat someone's skull in!

I've had a craving for Powerman 5000 of late. One of my favorites is "Nobody's real"

As far as soul stirring music goes, I've always found the rock operas be Ayreon to be... profound. In particular, this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebHbuL3l12Q&feature=PlayList&p=AAFB17A5E0BD153E&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=1 from his latest album.
