so what do you think of the movie? watche dit a few days ago but its very cool with all the werewolf
even though the werewolf is better in van helsing

truth be told i loved the movie but at the same time hatted it as well..

the reason why is because i hate the fact that they make the pure blood werewolves look like stupid mindless beasts that just need to be killed and the half breads look like they where the better ones. witch is completely backwards.

I didn't really like the first Underworld, so I really haven't bothered watching any of the sequels. It's entertaining enough as action fluff, but the crap they do to both the vampire and werewolf mythologies are unforgivable, in my opinion.

Re-naming the werewolves "lycans", for one thing... about as pretentious as as the "loup garou" name they used in White Wolf's "Werewolf: The Apocalypse"... speaking of which, the fact that Underworld almost rips off its "werewolf vs. vampires" idea from the White Wolf games as well (which in turn has apparently been ripped-off again in the Twilight series... don't even get me started on Twilight, either)... Plus, if I have to see one more movie with vampires wearing leather trenchcoats and wielding swords/automatic pistols again... seriously, how the hell are they keeping their existance secret from mundane humans when they're all dressed up like the X-Men? Rolling Eyes

The Swedish film Let the Right One In is perhaps the only recent vampire movie that gets it right, in my opinion. No Matrix-style action, no ridiculously conspicuous costumes, no dicking around with the core folk beliefs of the weaknesses and abilities of vampires (ie: no vampires walking around in the daytime!)... plus, it's the only vampire movie that has a human/vampire relationship that is freakin' believable!

I enjoyed the Underworld movies but only from a cinematic view point. The movies were pretty well made in my opinion.
But... ...I agree with JohnnyPsycho 100% on the holes in the story.
And personally, I refuse to even dignify Twilight with a comment.
