Well, since you've been such a good sport and "vanished" your anachronistic gear, allow me to help... 
*pulls out a set of Victorian age appropriate clothes... in bright purple and green, with a silver lapel pin in the shape of a grinning wombat*
if you don't like purple and green, I got also yellow and fuchsia... |

....does that outfit come in black? |

At the very least, if GURPS has tought me anything, it's that clockwork automatons were possible from the Renisance onward.
