Interesting, semi-related fact: The classic American TV dog "Lassie" has almost always been played by a male Collie, instead of female as the name implies. The reason is that males of that breed tend to have more colorful and thicker coats than females, making them more photogenic.

While conversely, the male dolphin 'Flipper' was always played by a female, because male dolphins have a tendancy to ruin shots by displaying arousal (whether really aroused or just to get a reaction).

Hehe. Just popping in from Canada. Hope everyone is doing okay.

It makes me think of the males in BonBon would ask Mr. Roy how he attract the females. Then, without saying a word, he spread his beautiful feather like a rainbow and almost all the girls in BonBon rush over to him admiring or mesmerize his looks. Razz Wink

Thats the idea Wink It's also refreshing to see so many here who know that the colorful ones with tails are the males. Its depressing how many educated adults I know who don't realize that if a bird is bright and colorful, it's a male.

Wait, only male peacocks have feathers? Wow... it must be really cold for female peahens...

...though, you know what they say about a man with a flashy tale Wink Usually he's making up for some sort of shortcoming...

just teasing Mr. Biv.

Yeah, it's one of those bits of trivia that sometimes gets forgotten or overlooked in grade-school science classes. Besides, I know lots of fairly smart people who are very "street smart" but not very "book smart" about things. Not to mention the number of times I've yelled at my TV in disbelief because someone on a game-show missed a very easy question (or at least, easy in my mind...).

*gently pat Cassandre on the shoulder.*

Little kids, "educated" show, in general, scares me, too.

Hey! A peacock feather! Thanks! :3

*take the peacock feather from Cassandre and place it on her blue hair.*

Hope Mr. Roy does not mind his feathers be scatter around. Razz

...I wonder....can a peacock, like Mr. Roy, "re-grow" their feathers... Confused

Peacocks molt and regrow their feathers annually.

But plucking them prematurely still hurts like a bitch. Sad

Ow.

That's one hell of a welcome you're giving the poor fellow. I'm just glad that a wombat's only point of attraction is the fact that he looks like a teddy bear.
