Alright guys,I've been asked to travel back to Iraq and Afghanistan for 6 months.The decision to go is mine to make as this is voluntary.There are extenuating circumstances that make my decision very difficult and due to the nature of this situation I cannot post any info on those circumstances.Because of this situation I decided to post this thread for a couple of reasons:

1)To at least let everyone know I'd be leaving without just disappearing.

2)To thank you guys for being the best group of people I've ever met on a forum.

My decision must be and will be made on or by Oct.7.Should I decide to leave it will be on Nov.7.I can't thank you guys enough for everything and for the time I've spent here with you.

I know you'll come back fine should you go, though. I've known a lot of people who've come back from Iraq and I'm sure you'll do the same thing.

I guess this is an opportune moment to say that I too will be leaving to the desert on or around Nov. 15. And where we are going there will be no way for me to communicate with anyone by any means for at least 6 months (***current projected timeline***) because we are going to be building a new base at the location (all that’s there right now is sand and rocks).

Wow so many people to reply to I don't know where to begin!Well first let me do this:*bows back to Ashton,shakes Lidia's hand,salutes ShadowFox and shakes ShadowFox's hand*.Okay now that I've done that I hope to reply to your messages here.

For those who've missed some earlier postings of mine I work as a "personal security specialist"(read:bodyguard) and for security reasons client names,places,and faces are withheld.This upcoming tour should I decide to go will be number 3 with the second one being the worst one(I won't go into details but Hollywood lied to you on getting shot).And finally as a SERE(Survival Evasion Resistance Escape) school graduate,I'll tell you that if you don't have a calm,rational mind you're gonna get hurt or die so all of my decisions are met with this in mind.

On a personal note you ShadowFox and other members of the military serving have my undying respect.The only people who don't get this are "birthers"(individuals in the military who refuse to follow orders handed out by President Obama because of his missing birth certificate and believe he's not legally the President.)And deserters because you hate the war(I hate it to but nobody forced you to sign the dotted line.)

Geared to bring fear ShadowFox! On a side note there's nothing badass about getting shot, it's a non pleasurable sensation that makes you cry like a bitch(remember this kids always hope for a through and through because the ones that stay in your body tend to hurt worse as they cool down in the blood.)And as for the school it's part of my job because I travel to different locations and you never know when you might be captured or left in a remote location.Also being a bodyguard sucks big.On average I work anywhere from 12-15 hours a day 18-20 on deployment in hostile territory,you don't get any hot girls(unless they're prostitutes working for the enemy),and you lose friends(and that spirals into problems I won't go into).

With my decision deadline nearing(6 days away) I want to make sure everyone knows what a truly great honor it has been talking and meeting with you guys.You guys are like my giant crazy family I never had and I won't forget you guys.

On a side note this is NOT related to my decision.I made this in case I don't get a chance to do so.

Just so everyone knows,my decision will be posted sometime Wed.I still highly encourage everyone to post any questions/comments for any of my threads to do so A.S.A.P. as I'll only have until the 21st to reply/answer them should I decide to go.
