I didn't get on the plane.

You can't believe how unlucky I was this morning.

First my train was canceled.

Then the next was delayed.

When it finally left the station it broke down in the middle of nowhere. For a hour and a half I was pinned between who knows how many people.

When we finally got moving again (by getting pushed by another trin) we were not allowed to get off at the airport due to Barak Obama's visiting my country.

My friend and I had to get off in my neighboring country, Sweden, and return to the airport with another train. We waited an hour for that train due to canceling and delayes because of B. Obama.

My friend and I was 10 minuttes late at the tjeck-in. We were the only two who didn't make it.

We had been in contact with the airlines the whole time, but no mercy. And it was a lot of trouble just to get another plane.

So my friend and I decided not to go to Syria at all.

Maybe it was faith stepping in. |

Oh, Dear.

Welp...you know, when it comes to the President of the United States visiting another countries in another continent, the security is very tight and will almost do anything to make sure the President to safe from harm. *sigh*

Almost feels like when the Principal and the staff of School get very strict of the rule in High School to make sure the students are "safe and educated." -___-!

(Sorry for my short rant. ^^!)

Anyway, *gently pat Miss Scorpia on the shoulder.* Sorry you and your friend were not able to visit Syria.

Maybe faith was trying to tell you something. :3

But, Hey! Look on the bright side, Ms. Scorpia! The President is at your country and more importantly, you have some time to play with us. ^w^

Edit: And you still got your health, too.! :3 (Sorry just want to add the positive list. ) |

The only thing I seem to have got is a beginning cold from sitting in a sweden train station in rain and wind without good cover.

I got a written note from the train company saying that the train didn't drive from 8:50 am to 10:30 am and left me in Sweden. I should never have been in Sweden!

Now I have to concact the airline through my insurance and prove it wasn't my fault that I missed the plane. |

| Since when has being excessive ever stopped security? Sounds like you had about as much luck as I did traveling. On my trip to look for apartments in Colorado, I ended up missing three flights all together. The first one flying there, and two trying to come back. It was a nightmare. But at least you got a story to tell out of it. And Lidia is right, you do still have your health. (except for that cold) |

| Lidia's correct in that security is tight to make sure Obama is okay.As far as excessive, and bear in mind I do this for a living, broken down trains can be used as VBIEDs or Vehicle Bourne Improvised Explosive Device(s).Also keep in mind the London train bombings of 2005 and the Madrid bombings of 2004. |

| I used to root for mr Obama, but now that I think about it, he is a joke of a president. His intention is good and all, but he easily spent more money in this one year than mr Bush did during his entire presidency. Gotta feel for you on that Miss Scorpia. I just hope that it was the sign you were thinking of. |

| sounds about right for any trip I've ever had to take cant trust the travel industry. we went through a similar problem here in aus for a while except it was the apec summit so was a lot more world leaders and a lot more annoying security things going on. he he so the chasers boys put together a fake motorcade and went on in posing as the Canadian leaders they almost got too far and went to turn around then they decided screw it and one of em hopped out disguised as osama ha ha that was funny as though in retrospect its probably things like that, that made them become so annoying about security. |

| I feel sorry for Obama, because he pretty much gets treated like the guy left holding the bag. Bush administration did a good number of mucking things up, now he has to come in and fix it. The money he's been spending has been necessary, because Bush only cared about his crusade against the terrorists in much the fashion of Don Quixote and his "giants". |

strange how seamlessly this topic changed from a critique of security and the travel industry to a political commentary of the current situation and popularity of obama

| That seems a bit obsessive to not allow people off the train simply due to him visiting. |

It's got nothing to do with Obama, that sort of security comes down when any president travels. The leaders of most other countries have similar security.

My friend in Calgary, Canada loves to tell stories about how he was late for work because of the Queen of England (she was travelling through town so they stopped the trains in the area for like an hour). |

| I live by the major airport in my state and when the president visits, they almost shut down the entire city so his motorcade can roll through to and from his destination so i understand your pain Miss Scorpia, My government tends to over compensate sometimes. |
